摘要: We present the first global empirical model for quiet time F region equatorial vertical drifts based on combined incoherent scatter radar observations at Jicamarca and Ion Drift Meter board Atmospheric Explorer E satellite. This analytical model, products of cubic-B splines with nearly conservative electric fields, describes diurnal seasonal variations a continuous range all longitudes solar flux values. Our results indicate that during minimum, evening prereversal velocity enhancement exhibits only small longitudinal equinox amplitudes about 15–20 m/s, is observed in American sector December solstice 5–10 absent June solstice. The minimum reversal times are fairly independent longitude except During maximum, upward exhibit large variations, particularly solstices. In this case, index 180, peak maximize Pacific drift up to 35 whereas velocities comparable magnitudes. equinoctial vary between 45 m/s. morning daytime phase cycle. have largest 0900 1100 LT typical values 25–30 also show our good agreement other ground-based over India, Brazil, Kwajalein.
