摘要: Abstract This paper deals with the ultimate limits of chemical contributions to flame inhibition. Particular attention is focussed on inhibition cycles which regenerate inhibitor. leads definition an idealized “perfect” cycle. It demonstrated that for such inhibitor in a stoichiometric methane/air flame, additive levels 0.001–0.01 mole percent range will lead decrease velocity approximately 30%. efficiency corresponds roughly observed behavior metallic inhibitors as iron pentacarbonyl known be much 2 orders magnitude more effective than currently used suppressants. correspondence between “perfect inhibitor” and carbonyl conclusion only gas-phase processes can account its inhibitive power.
