摘要: Vitiligo is a common pigmentary disorder. Many studies across decades and all over the world have attempted to illustrate pathogenesis behind it; however, of vitiligo remains elusive. This review article, we present findings most updated theories this psychologically debilitating disfiguring disease. The discussion begun with role genetic predisposition followed by neural theory first proposed in 1950s. We highlight autoimmune hypothesis, reactive oxygen species model, zinc-α2-glycoprotein deficiency viral theory, intrinsic biochemical, molecular cellular alterations accounting for loss functioning melanocytes vitiligo. were elaborated clarify pathogenesis. It multifactorial disease involving interplay several factors. Future research needed interaction these factors better understanding subsequent successful treatment.
