摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the fundamentals and history of neutron activation analysis. The principle technique is that elements can be made radioactive by exposure to irradiation. Two types physiological processes are associated with this activation: one prompt delayed. Neutron analysis based on detection delayed event, through characteristic radiation emitted during decay - a specific half-life (t 1/2 )––of unstable nuclei formed (n,γ) reaction. may regarded as an extremely powerful analytical excellent sensitivity for many which all sources systematic or random variation identifiable predictable down limits detection. three main neutrons irradiation nuclear reactors, sources, electron ion accelerators produce high-energy neutrons; first give highest fluxes permit sensitivities quantification various elements. It has profound influence trace element research, particularly its biomedical applications.
