Plasma cortisol levels. A comparison between sick patients and volunteers given intravenous cortisol.

摘要: Summary The plasma cortisol levels of 30 very sick patients were measured to determine whether evidence suprarenal failure could be found. Volunteers given 100 mg hydrocortisone intravenously and their leoels measured. The results suggest that is a uncommon occurrence. The obtained from the volunteers imply relatively small amounts cause marked elevation levels.
