摘要: PURPOSE We examined the treatment period necessary to restore retinal and visual stability following trauma optic nerve. METHODS Cats received unilateral nerve crush no (NT), of injured eye with brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), or combined cortex for 2 4 weeks. After 1-, 2-, 4-, 6-week survival periods, pattern electroretinograms (PERGs) were obtained ganglion cell (RGC) determined. RESULTS In peripheral retina, RGC NT, only, + animals was 55%, 78%, 92%, respectively, at 1 week, 31%, 60%, 93%, PERGs showed a similar improvement. weeks, 7%, 29%, 53% in each group, dual-treated 1- 2-week animals. For area centralis (AC), 47%, 82% survival, 13%, 54%, 81% Removing pumps weeks resulted levels 76% 74% AC 6 postcrush, respectively. The from treated, but 4- comparable those CONCLUSIONS Treating entire central pathway is important trauma. Long-term preservation vision may be achieved as little using this approach.
