In many countries, contributes significantly to intake. Meta-analyses have shown that consumption of may reduce risk chronic diseases and thereby lower healthcare costs. Milk production processing contribute greenhouse gas emissions, estimated at 2.7% (cradle-to-retail) world’s total. Evaluating position diet should take into account impact both nutritional environmental factors. Local conditions also important; parts world, cow efficient converter human-inedible resources nutrient-dense food. Increased productivity cows a decisive factor realizing sufficient milk with optimal resource efficiency minimal emission.
