摘要: After steadily decreasing since the late 1990s, adolescent smoking rates have stabilized at levels well above national goals. Experts recommend screening for tobacco use and exposure every patient visit, although evidence of improved outcomes in adolescents is lacking. Counseling should be provided using 5-A method (ask, advise, assess, assist, arrange). All smokers offered cessation assistance, including counseling, nicotine replacement therapy, bupropion or combination therapy. Pharmacotherapy any kind doubles likelihood successful adults; however, therapy only pharmacologic intervention that has been extensively studied children. Community interventions such as bans educational programs effective reducing children adolescents. Antismoking advertising sales taxes also help deter new motivate current to attempt quit.
