摘要: Eggs from three female and milt five male endangered razorback suckers (Xyrauchen texanus) were collected the Razorback Bar (about 20 km upstream of Ashley Creek) in Green River northeastern Utah. Eggs, but not milt, had concentrations selenium that above range control fish laboratory studies or reference field studies. The concentrations, however, below those reported selenium-exposed reproductive problems investigations. Tests with streamside spawned pairs suckers, which sampled for eggs this study, resulted no hatching fertilized eggs. Concentrations significantly correlated muscle plugs taken same fish, egg different plugs. Selenium may be sufficiently elevated to cause are contributing decline species upper Colorado basin.
