The Earlier, the Worse? Age of Onset of Sexual Interest in Children

摘要: Abstract Aim Investigating the variability of age onset (AOO) sexual interest in children (SIC) and interrelations important measures individuals having a SIC, especially role AOO. Methods A sample 75 from different contexts SIC was examined within an online survey. We explored relations between AOO other characteristics using correlation coefficients. The main outcome were self‐reported its exclusiveness, flexibility over time, participants' motivation to change it, their self‐efficacy for modifying it. Results displayed that ranges 6 44, has mean value 17 median 15 years. correlates only with flexibility, indicating earlier participants recognized less they have experienced time. Conclusion may be broadly distributed related flexibility. Further studies should clarify relevance these preliminary results possible implications clinical practice.
