摘要: The bulk nanostructure of 15 mol% propylammonium chloride (PACl) dissolved in nitrate (PAN) and ethanolammonium (EtACl) (EtAN) has been determined using neutron diffraction with empirical potential structure refinement fits. For both the PAN:PACl EtAN:EtACl mixtures, data for three different scattering contrasts were simultaneously fit, structures compared to that pure ionic liquids. Strong electrostatic interactions between cation charged groups, as well alcohol moiety EtAN, lead marked changes local ion packing alter liquid structure. In PAN, addition modifies but does not significantly disrupt bicontinuous amphiphilic IL. Tight ammonium groups around favours a gauche conformer which shrinks apolar domains brings terminal methyls nearer polar domains. weakly-clustered consequence hydroxyl, is overwhelmed by strong chloride–cation interactions. Ethanolammonium binds tightly monodentate fashion via either its or charge centre, through bidentate arrangement adopting eclipsed conformer.
