摘要: Sediments can accumulate various pollutants and are widely used for environmental monitoring of human impact. The central purpose this study was to examine the levels eight heavy metals in subtidal sediments vicinity two thermal power/desalination plants Oman: (1) Barka plant (2) Al-Ghubrah plant. samples bottom sediment were collected with a grab sampler. analysed cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), vanadium (V) zinc (Zn). Sediment at different stations. Some these stations located near intake plants, others distances directions from outfalls (outlets discharge). In addition metal analysis, other physical chemical parameters measured simultaneously water include temperature, salinity, conductivity, dissolved oxygen. results indicated that not polluted by metals. Cu, Zn, Pb Cd appear be derived discharge whereas (Cr, Fe, Ni,V) have geochemical source.
