摘要: The rapid increase in marine renewable energy installations (MREIs) will result the placing of many novel man-made structures within seabird foraging habitats, and such could potentially impact populations directly indirectly, positively negatively. However, whether these potential impacts represent real ones, that they cause detectable trends population levels, remains unknown. Changes dynamics seabirds are driven primarily by rates reproduction adult juvenile survival, all three which impacted success. Therefore, revealing precisely how MREIs can affect success through changes behaviour is key to understanding large-scale have at a level. Discussion focuses on define habitat might those habitats indirectly oceanographic processes prey characteristics. Foraging behaviours also likely be more MREIs, so focus here during constrained breeding season influence reproductive output altering individual budgets. A third more-direct diving behaviour. Throughout, relevant gaps current knowledge need addressed order make robust predictions as highlighted.
