摘要: Background: Evaluating the proportion of patients with mutated drug-resistant HIV-1 strains is a major issue current AIDS research and therapy. According to recent study in United States, nearly 80% HIV-1-infected have virus that are resistant at least one antiretroviral drug. The aim this was assess extent multiple drug resistance among individuals followed for infection France. Methods: We compiled data relational database 3884 reverse transcriptase (2248 patients) 3915 protease (2194 sequences plasma samples submitted testing between January 1997 March 2002 reference HIV hospitals located Marseille (France). Results: Genotypic nucleoside inhibitor (NRTI) present 78.3%, non-nucleoside (NNRTI) 38.9%, (PI) 47.0% samples. carrying three categories drugs (at NRTI plus NNRTI PI) peaked 25.9% 2000 stabilized 25.5% 2002. Conclusion: This demonstrates high prevalence European cohort currently under treatment infection. New therapeutic strategies based on more rational use genotypic should be worked out prevent development resistance.
