Si–W–Mo coating for SiC coated carbon/carbon composites against oxidation

摘要: Abstract In order to prevent carbon/carbon (C/C) composites from oxidation at 1773 K, a Si–W–Mo coating was prepared on the surface of SiC coated C/C by simple pack cementation technique. The microstructures and phase composition as-received multi-coating were examined SEM, XRD EDS. It seen that compact composed α-SiC, Si (WxMo1 − x)Si2. Oxidation behaviour SiC/Si–W–Mo also studied. After 315 h in air 1773 K thermal cycling between room temperature for 17times, no weight loss as-coated measured. excellent anti-oxidation ability is attributed its dense structure formation stable glassy SiO2 film during oxidation.
