摘要: Abstract The present status of both process gas (PGC) and liquid (PLC) chromatographs is examined with regard to the main criteria that any analyser should fulfil: reliability, credibility, fast response low maintenance. Despite considerable improvements in construction these instruments, owing materials used, progress technology microelectronics advent microprocessors, their reliability still a matter great concern. deferred standard concept may offer solution for problems. Progress also made by introduction fused-silica capillary columns PGC, which allow better resolution greater speed analysis. However, this requires redesign PGCs. Further, particularly PLC, new approach based on instability instead stability parameters proposed. This leads simpler, more reliable less expensive PLC. consequence some radical changes design functions analytical control units chromatograph. unit plugged into chemical reactor not temperature controlled. unit, incorporating microcomputer dedicated software, able characterize peaks despite fluctuating retention times, readjust time sequence validate detector case fluctuations or mobile phase flow-rate. useful implementation programming and, according validation function standard, use selective but unstable detectors PGC. Simpler hardware, PGCs PLCs could become “intelligent apparatus” capable qualitative quantitative tasks at competitive cost.
