摘要: The genus Sulfolobus includes microorganisms belonging to the domain Archaea, sub-kingdom Crenarchaeota, living in geographically distant acidic hot springs. Their adaptation such particular habitats requires finely regulated mechanisms of gene expression, among which, those modulated by sequence-specific transcription factors (TFs) play a key role. In this review, we summarize current knowledge on repertoires TFs found spp. and their viruses, focusing description DNA-binding domains structure–function relationship.
