摘要: Traditionally, lead has been used for water piping and in the chemical industry, especially sulfuric acid manufacture. However, use of these applications now supplanted by other more effective, cheaper, less toxic alternatives. The main current application is rechargeable accumulator battery generally automotive use, but this not discussed detail here. Instead, article focuses on where its high corrosion resistance, particularly to underground atmospheric environments, still value.
