摘要: Existing data suggest that deficits in social cognitive functioning are transdiagnostic phenomena observed across various forms of psychopathology. The goal the present review was to provide an updated systematic literature on eating disorders (EDs), including anorexia nervosa (AN), bulimia (BN), and binge disorder (BED). Studies assessed six areas cognition were included: theory mind, perception, knowledge, attributional bias, emotion processing. A search identified 71 studies, majority which examined adult women with AN. Research typically focused alexithymia, empathy, processing, recognition, or Results suggested some EDs. AN had most studies evidence for deficiencies but a fair amount variability. BN BED limited inconsistent, though there appear be cognition. Together, coverage EDs heterogeneous methodology preclude firm conclusions regarding general ED-specific deficits, as well understanding role ED etiology maintenance. Therefore, several key questions future directions outlined research moving forward.
