Sulfonylation of aromatic compounds with methyl p -toluenesulfonate as a sulfonylating precursor

摘要: We have developed Friedel–Crafts (FC) sulfonylation of aromatic compounds with methyl p-toluenesulfonate as a sulfonylating precursor. In this procedure, was treated and activated pyridine to produce N-methylpyridinium reagent. Reactivity salt for the mesitylene investigated in presence three different promoters, such triflic anhydride, dimethylsulfide ditriflate, triphenylphosphine ditriflate (TPPD). All promoters show chemoselectivity among them, TPPD presents FC sulfonylation.
