摘要: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive degenerative of the nervous system characterised neuropathologically by presence senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles in amygdala, hippocampus neocortex [1,2]. Dysfunction death basal cholinergic neurones projecting to forebrain targets are associated with marked decreases markers, including activity choline acetyl transferase [3]. Although cerebral cortical levels somatostatin receptors have been reported be reduced AD, no consistent changes other neuropeptide systems [4,5]. Here we review current understanding role corticotropin releasing factor (CRF) AD discuss possibilities exploiting this for molecular therapy treat AD.
