A highly sensitive upconverting nano-glass-ceramic-based optical thermometer

摘要: Abstract Yb/Tm: YF 3 nanoparticles embedded transparent bulk glass ceramic was successfully prepared to explore its possible application in optical temperature sensors. Specifically, owing the competition of electron population thermally coupled Tm 3+ F 2,3 and H 4 excited states, two upconversion emission bands corresponding :  →  6 transition 1 G → one exhibited opposite temperature-dependent behaviors, which resulted monotonous enhancement related fluorescence intensity ratio with increase temperature. As a consequence, activators present had advantages high sensitivity 1.84% per K, an avoidable spectral overlapping negligible thermal effect for accurate detecting.
