摘要: Purpose. The aim of this study was to investigate the changes in accommodation and binocular vision parameters during a period 3 years evaluate their potential influence on refractive observed over same time population university students Portugal. Methods. A 3-year longitudinal conducted comprising 118 young adults (34 males 84 females; mean age: 20.6 2.3 years). Examinations consisted subjective refraction, dissociated phoria vergences at distance near vision, accommodative convergence/accommodative ratio, lag accommodation, negative positive relative accommodation. Results. There were statistically significant differences between first (2002) second examination (2005) phoria, break recovery points for base-in base-out vision. Statistically also obtained blur base-out, As regards parameters, we verified difference all measured. Comparing baseline values patients who suffered myopic shift 0.50 D with those from did not experience such shift, value (equal 12.2 3.6 group without error alteration 15.8 6.8 other group) 22.4 5.2 24.8 5.5 group, respectively). Conclusions. We heterophoria, fusional vergences, vergence account as predictors adults. (Optom Vis Sci 2008;85:E999–E1006)
