Income-related health inequalities in France in 2004: Decomposition and explanations

摘要: Abstract Background This analysis supplements existing work on social health inequalities at two levels: the measurement of and inequalities. Firstly, individual status was measured using a subjective indicator corrected within promising cardinalisation method which had not yet been carried out French data. Secondly, this study used an innovative methodology to measure income-related inequalities, understand relationships between income, income inequality, various determinants, health. Methods The based sample working-age adults from 2004 Health Insurance Survey. in measures total inequality concentration index. index is linear model explaining according several characteristics, such as age, sex, socioeconomic characteristics. thus takes into account both causal explicative factors introduced their relationship with Furthermore, it concretely contribution determinants Results results show favouring individuals higher income. Moreover, level, supplementary private insurance, education class for main contributions inequality. Therefore, decomposition highlights population groups that policies should target. Conclusion suggests reducing sufficient lower France needs be supplemented reduction over status.
