摘要: Participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has been linked to an increased risk of obesity, but not much is known about mechanisms behind this association. The objective study was determine if neighborhood density unhealthy food outlets modifies association between obesity and participation SNAP. Data comes from first wave Los Angeles Family Neighborhood Survey; included are a subsample adults (18+ years) who were SNAP participants or eligible non-participants (N = 1,176). We carried out multilevel analyses with (BMI ≥ 30 Kg/m2), participation, as dependent, independent modifying variables, respectively, controlling for age, gender, race/ethnicity, marital status, working mental health, poverty. had double odds compared (OR = 2.02; 95%CI = 1.44-2.83). However, did modify associated higher our primarily Hispanic sample County, no effect modification found portion environment.
