摘要: The Cerenkov wakes stimulated by various drivers (an intense laser pulse, a train of pulses or beats and relativistic particle bunch) propagating transverse to dc magnetic field in plasma are analyzed. In each case, the wake generated couples electromagnetic radiation approximate frequency ωp at plasma-vacuum boundary. amplitude is ωc/ωp times excited (for sharp boundary). Two- three-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations used verify scaling laws. For parameters current accelerator experiments results predict that generation high-power (GW) coherent microwave terahertz possible.
