摘要: Previous studies showed that sensory feedback from the body wall is important and sometimes critical for generating normal, robust swimming activity in leeches. In this paper, we evaluate role of intersegmental coordination using both behavioral physiological measurements. We severed ventral nerve cord leeches midbody then made video situ extracellular recordings animals. Our electrophysiological unequivocally demonstrate active occurs with cords, refuting earlier conclusions cannot coordinate activity. Intersegmental can fact be achieved by alone, without interactions conveyed cord.
