摘要: Otto Rank (1884–1939) wrote the present work at height of his creative powers, betweenWill Therapy andArt and Artist. Here he presents a sweeping history psychology—individual social—from animistic era to psychoanalysis. An earlier translation (by William D. Turner, 1950) was incomplete somewhat inaccurate. Unlike Sigmund Freud, mentor, viewed religion with respect clarifies its role in individual communal life through this study soul-belief ages. The book contains important insights on immortality, will, dreams, Judaism Christianity, Hamlet Don Juan, Jung Adler, Freud himself.
