Impact of land use on soils quality and erosion-sedimentation balance in the malian cotton zone (case of Bélékoni Watershed)

摘要: Belekoni watershed (120km2 ) is located in the upper basin of Niger River Mali. The climate context (Sudanian zone) justify cotton production program. Analysis last decades agricultural evolution impacts objective present study. Research methods include situ observations and measurements laboratory analysis. According French soil classification 1967, three main types are distinguished watershed: Lithosol (soil1), Ferruginous Tropical Soil (soil2) Mineral Hydromorphic (soil3). Sol1 marginal for cropping wood development two others soils indicated actual intensification. Concerning land use, there mainly cropland under natural vegetation, subjected to vainly grazing. general trend degradation whereas use. Carbon stock low (20.2 t.ha-1 first 30 cm profile). 1 2 affected by erosion, respectively 2.7 5.7 t.ha- .yr-1 or 0.4 0.2 cm.yr-1 ; Soil3, depression along river system a sedimentation site: 10.1t.ha-1 0.7 .
