摘要: Two closely related potyviruses, bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) and necrosis (BCMNV), are regarded as major constraints on production of (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) in Eastern Central Africa, where this crop provides a high proportion dietary protein well other nutritional, agronomic, economic benefits. Previous studies using antibody-based assays indicator plants indicated that BCMV BCMNV both prevalent fields the region but these approaches cannot distinguish between potyviruses or detect viruses may threaten crop. In study, we utilized next generation shotgun sequencing for metagenomic examination present growing at two locations Kenya: University Nairobi Research Farm Nairobi's Kabete district sites Kirinyaga County. RNA was extracted from leaves exhibiting apparent viral symptoms sequenced Illumina MiSeq platform. We detected BCMNV, cucumber (CMV), Phaseolus alphaendornaviruses 1 2 (PvEV1 2), with CMV samples. The strain study most to Asian strains, which suggests it be recent introduction region. Surprisingly, contrast previous surveys, not either location. Some were infected PvEV1 2. detection seed transmitted more African germplasm than previously thought.
