Petroleum Taxes : Trends in Fuel Taxes (and Subsidies) and the Implications

摘要: Recent World Bank analysis shows that taxes on petroleum products are a critical source of government revenue for low-income countries. And if the experience industrial countries serves as any guide, rates these will have to rise sharply economies develop. But policymakers must be mindful how (and subsides) affect relative prices fuels, since too large difference in process between cab lead fuel switching and adulteration, adversely affecting tax take pollution levels.
