摘要: The distribution of nitrate and nitrite in the interstitial water sediment eelgrass (Zostera marina) bed Izembek Lagoon, Alaska, were investigated. Their concentrations relatively high (0 to 9.8 μg-at.N·1−1, average 4.8 for nitrate; 0 4.0 μ-at.N·1−1, 1.9 nitrite) although sediments anoxic contained hydrogen sulphide. rates bacterial denitrification measured by 15N tracer technique ranged from 0.49×10−10 1.2 × 10−9 g-atN·g−1·h−1. When a steady state is maintained, loss must be balanced their production nitrification. Experimentally determined rate nitrification was same order.
