摘要: We conducted a study to determine the incidence of haemolytic uraemic syndrome (HUS) in children France and assess role Shiga-toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) infection aetiology HUS. In collaboration with Societe de Nephrologie Pediatrique we undertook retrospective review all cases HUS hospitalized from January 1993 March 1995 1-year prospective (April 1995-March 1996) epidemiological microbiological features The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) procedure was used detect stx, eae, e-hlyA genes directly case stool samples. Serum samples were examined for antibodies lipopolysaccharide (LPS) 26 major STEC serogroups. Two hundred eighty-six reported. average per year 0.7/10(5) < 15 years 1.8/10(5) 5 years. During study, 122/130 evidence using PCR and/or serological assays 105 (86%) had infection. E. O157 LPS detected 79 (67%) tested. conclusion, this showed that is an important cause France, high proportion related serogroup.
