摘要: Critical depth is an important parameter in the design, operation and maintenance of open channels analysis gradually varied flow. For horseshoe cross section channels, governing equations are highly nonlinear critical flow thus solution implicit involves time consuming numerical methods. In current research, through conversion equation to objective function then its minimization by using Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm, we calculate channels. The accuracy proposed model was also evaluated comparing with existing equations. Furthermore this method can be used deal other optimization problems hydraulic engineering.
