摘要: An experiment was conducted to study P digestibility in mature horses because of the growing environmental concerns regarding runoff and previous equine research focused mostly on young animals or used ponies as a model. Phytase supplementation swine poultry diets can result greater phytate-P digestibility, leading decreased need for inorganic decrease excreted environment; this, however, has not been demonstrated horse. Six Arabian geldings were fed 6 consisting pelleted concentrate alfalfa hay. The concentrates consisted mainly soybean hulls, ground corn, wheat midds, broken rice, beet pulp, phytase added accordingly before pelleting. There 3 diet types: control (concentrate hay), high (greater forage only, each type included 1 phytase-supplemented non-phytase-supplemented diet, resulting total diets. only accomplished by feeding nominal amount formulated solely vehicle phytase. Horses had unrestricted access water throughout experiment. Using Latin square design, all received over period 12 wk. In week, new 11 d acclimation, which followed 3-d collection feces urine no effect (P < 0.05) output feces, differences apparent digestibility. Analysis feed phytate revealed 93% average disappearance rate phytate, indicating that are highly capable degrading beneficial. Thus, results indicate able maintain near 0 balance, with adequate provided even increased intakes above requirement may potentially detrimental outputs environment.
