摘要: In order to achieve food and energy security, while at the same time eliminating “food vs. biofuel” conflict, a transformational three dimensional multilayer farming, MLF, is presented. This exploits third dimension. goal realizable by disclosed means methods increase 3D plant productivity, yield, ton/m3/year, using ultra-compact ultra high density vertical structures. Each layer in MLF system comprises least one string of SanSSoil Growth Elements, SGEs, each designed carry out multiple functions essential sustain growth, constructed manner integrate these low-cost. The networked strings SGEs provide near self-sufficiency for an integrated system, maximum compactness highest growth density. multi-functions integrally made SGE include: germination, sustenance, localized delivery nutrients, environment sensing, illumination.
