摘要: Membrane filtration technology is widely used across several industries. But its efficiency plagued by fouling, which ultimately deteriorates the membrane’s performance. This paper provides a research update on biologically inspired liquid-enabled gating mechanism that acts as novel and separation approach offering reduction in transmembrane pressure (TMP), improved throughput, reduced fouling. We study performance of such Liquid Gated Membranes (LGMs) present their benefits for presence model inorganic (nanoclay particles) show over twofold higher nearly threefold longer time to foul, more than 60% irreversible ability return baseline pressures after backwashing along with use backwash water, 10%-15% TMP nanoclay particles. Fouling models exhibit not only delayed onset fouling LGMs compared control but also different characteristics. These results demonstrate potential liquid mechanism, can lead breakthroughs membrane applications particle filtration, microfiltration, ultrafiltration.Membrane characterist...
