摘要: Large wood is an important physical component of woodland rivers and significantly influences river morphology. It also a key stream ecosystems. However, large source risk for human activities as it may damage infrastructure, block channels, induce flooding. Therefore, the analysis quantification its mobility are crucial understanding managing in rivers. As amount large-wood-related studies by researchers, managers, stakeholders increases, documentation commonly used newly available techniques their effectiveness has become increasingly relevant well. Important data knowledge have been obtained from application very different approaches generated significant body valuable information representative environments. This review brings comprehensive qualitative quantitative summary recent advances regarding processes involved dynamics fluvial systems including budgeting mechanics. First, some definitions concepts introduced. Second, quantifying reviewed; particular, how measurements modeling can be combined to integrate our moves through retained within systems. Throughout, we present integrated meta-analysis compiled geographical regions. Finally, conclude highlighting areas particular research importance likely future trajectories, consider particularly underresearched area so stress challenges research.
