摘要: Eosinophililc esophagitis is a clinicopathologic disease characterized clinically by dysphagia and food impaction in adults nonspecific symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux children, histologically large numbers eosinophils the proximal distal esophageal epithelium. Importantly, these histologic abnormalities appear to be unresponsive proton pump inhibition. Recent clinical basic studies suggest an allergic etiology but precise allergen remains unknown likely unique for each patient. Endoscopic features ongoing inflammation range from linear furrowing with whitish exudation long-segment stricture formation, fragile, crepe paper-like mucosa that easily split open. Treatments include nutritional restrictions, medical management topical steroids, and, stenotic circumstances, dilation. The long-term outcome still not certain.
