摘要: In this study, brain gangliosides of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD, N = 5) were analyzed and compared control human brains (C, 3). Gangliosides in seven regions: cerebral cortex (frontal, parietal, temporal occipital), hippocampus, basal telencephalon frontal white matter. The results demonstrated to be decreased the majority regions analyzed, however, a significant decrease (nmol LBSA/mg proteins or g fresh weight) matter (P less than 0.05) was recorded. When expressed nmol DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), their telencephalon, suggesting that high astroglial proliferation might have concealed real neuronal degeneration. ganglioside composition, all contained moderately ganglio-series (GT1b, GD1b, GD1a, GM1) but statistically detected cortex, LBSA/g DNA). addition, parietal also showed elevated concentration simple (GM2, GM3, GM4, GD3). A correlates degeneration cortical neurons. However, elevation may correlate with: (a) an accelerated lysosomal degradation occurring during death (GM2); (b) astrogliosis (GM3 GD3); (c) activation oligodendrocytes (GM4). fact are altered important for better understanding pathogenesis disease.
