摘要: The purpose of this paper is to describe how adaptations, especially within the muscular system, may have bestowed advantages that account for athletic abilities two species, canine and equine. Although both species not represent fastest mammalian animals known nor best endurance, selection processes imposed during their domestication development specific tasks initially connected with hunting, farming, warfare, more recently leisure activities, led a wide spectrum breeds differing capabilities. A study these provides an interesting comparison elite human athletes whose training today tries lift them above natural limitations. It could be argued information obtained from studies useful in understanding man rather than extensive carried out most commonly used model, rat. In recent review on skeletal muscle adaptability (Saltin Gollnick 1983), rat were generally referred when required data was lacking investigations man.
