摘要: Aphids are important agricultural pests and also biological models for studies of insect-plant interactions, symbiosis, virus vectoring, the developmental causes extreme phenotypic plasticity. Here we present 464 Mb draft genome assembly pea aphid Acyrthosiphon pisum. This first published whole sequence a basal hemimetabolous insect provides an outgroup to multiple genomes holometabolous insects. Pea aphids host-plant specialists, they can reproduce both sexually asexually, have coevolved with obligate bacterial symbiont. highlight findings from analysis that may be related these unusual features. These include discovery extensive gene duplication in more than 2000 families as well loss evolutionarily conserved genes. Gene family expansions relative other genes involved chromatin modification, miRNA synthesis, sugar transport. losses central IMD immune pathway, selenoprotein utilization, purine salvage, entire urea cycle. The reveals only limited number been acquired bacteria; thus reduced count Buchnera does not reflect transfer host genome. inventory metabolic suggests there is metabolite exchange between Buchnera, including sharing amino acid biosynthesis Buchnera. foundation post-genomic fundamental questions applied problems.
