Speech intelligibility problems of Sudanese learners of English: An Experimental approach

摘要: This is a study on the pronunciation and perception of English sounds words by university students in Sudan, whose native language Sudanese Arabic. The aims to establish intelligibility Sudanese-Arabic (SA) accented for (British American) listeners Dutch who use as lingua franca. SA-accented compared with that English. also investigates how well SA identify recognize simple sentences spoken speaker. tests show predominantly compromised incorrect vowels. finding was predicted from contrastive analysis Arabic sound inventories. The produced vowels consonants consonant clusters controlled materials.
