摘要: The release of silicic acid from sediments is known to play a n important role in determining the concentration water columns estuaries, but factors controlling rate are poorly understood. Silicic efflux sandy Chesapeake Bay sediment cores that were maintained dark was strongly dependent on biogenic silica deposition, temperature and salinity, independent oxygen overlying water. Silica dissolution accelerated rapidly with above 15 "C. also very salinity increase between 10 O/m 20 %, less change low high ranges. These findings help account for observed late summer maxima water-column concentrations mesohaline regions Bay.
