摘要: Abstract The reductive decomposition of calcium sulfate utilizing both hydrogen and carbon monoxide was investigated using a thermogravimetric analyzer. solid reactant pellets sulfate. reaction temperature varied between 900 1180°C, while gas compositions 1–6% were utilized. Measured initial rates indicated that the first order with respect to concentration either or monoxide. rate constant based on surface area CaSO 4 had an activation energy 242 kJ/mole for monoxide, value 288 kJ/mole. Assuming chemical control spherical grains, grain model fit conversion-time data reasonably well. porosity decreased significantly as they heated due sintering. Both quantities increased by about factor two upon reaction.
