摘要: Plastics are the most advanced materials, regarding their application and property range, with an annual worldwide demand of over 400 million tonnes, but have been facing strong public opposition lately. In debate on sustainable plastics, plastic waste littering, bio-based especially biodegradable plastics gained attention as potential solution to these problems. This has accompanied by misunderstanding, false inadequate labeling well insufficient communication authorities. The littering problems addressed already implemented planned bans single-use improved regulations for enhancement recycling. future will show how successful strategies are. If produced renewable carbon from biomass, direct CO2 utilization recycling, production can be completely independent fossil resources in a long-term perspective which supports circular economy.
