Diabetes and insulin resistance associated disorders: Disease and the therapy

摘要: An overwhelming increase in metabolic syndrome, i.e., obesity, insulin resistance and dyslipidemia has led to type 2 or insulin-resistant diabetes mellitus assuming epidermic proportions. Currently, there are five distinct classes of oral hypoglycemic agents available. These -sulphonylureas, meglitinides, biguanides, thiazolidinediones alpha-glucosidase inhibitors. United Kingdom Prospective Diabetes Study shown that, normalization hyperglycemia can prevent majority complications. Unfortunately, the current treatment regime does not adequately normalize blood glucose level patients.
