摘要: A 12-channel Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI)-based Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) with different core width sizes of 1.2 μm and 1.0 was designed characterized for Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) System. Beam Propagation Method (BPM) used to simulate the propagation light in this device at operating wavelength 1.491 which producing peak transmission wavelengths ranging from 1391 1611 nm. The output spectrum peaks that were obtained both widths are close CWDM grid. produced lowest insertion loss adjacent crosstalk values 4.03 dB -15.02 respectively. Meanwhile, 5.03 -15.96 where losses higher. Hence, WG larger size a better crosstalk.
