摘要: Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma: Basic Aspects of Diagnosis, Therapy, and Follow-up from a Nuclear-Medicine Perspective. thyroid carcinoma is the most common neoplasm endocrine glands. Both papillary follicular have favourable prognosis. The challenge in diagnostic work-up nodular goitre to discriminate few malignant majority benign nodules. Even though specificity ultrasound criteria for malignancy high, sensitivity proven be quite low. Thus, further scintigraphic techniques ultrasound-guided fineneedle aspiration biopsy are well-established clinical routine. In contrast anaplastic medullary carcinoma, radioiodine remnant ablation standard procedure subsequent surgery patients with differentiated > 1 cm. Only advanced carcinomas may lose ability accumulate 131I, thus, ineffective these cases. For this group tumours worse prognosis, miscellaneous therapeutic strategies undergoing testing.
