摘要: In the mid-1970s, a new apple variety named ‘Meran’ was discovered in South Tyrol (northern Italy), which harbours largest continuous growing area Europe. The cultivar registered for varietal protection and patented several countries, declared to be cross of varieties ‘Golden Delicious’ ‘Morgenduft’ (synonym ‘Rome Beauty’). parentage has, however, been questioned, present study aimed assess descent this by combined use molecular genetic bioinformatic tools. Five accessions were collected from three different European germplasm collections analysed at 14 variable microsatellite DNA loci. Subsequently, computer software used allocate most likely parent pair set cultivars representative 1975. data clearly excluded as gene donor provided strong evidence that is ‘Jonathan’, confirming previous assumptions based on morphological traits tree fruit.
